Accounting Assistant
Location : Minneapolis, MN
Salary: $20-$25 an hour ( this is a 3 month contract)

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support our accounting department in various tasks related to financial record keeping, payroll processing, and bookkeeping. The successful candidate will assist with the day-to-day operations of the accounting functions while ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and contributing to the overall efficiency of our financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions
• Process payroll and manage employee benefits
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes
• Reconcile general ledger accounts
• Conduct billing reviews and resolve discrepancies
• Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Accounting Assistant or similar role
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles
• Experience with payroll processing and benefits management
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., ADP, Paychex)
• Basic understanding of GAAP
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
