The Department of Psychology seeks an experienced, dynamic and engaging individual with a commitment to teaching as a profession for a full-time, 9-month teaching faculty position. While this is not a tenure track position, it is a renewable position, pending satisfactory progress. We have a strong history of supporting successful instructors in our Department, many of whom have committed to a career in teaching with us for 15 years or more. Salary is commensurate with experience, but those with experience teaching post Ph.D. can expect a minimum salary of $70,000/academic year and full benefits.
The successful candidate will provide instruction to our vibrant undergraduate population, as well as assist the department in the assessment of student learning outcomes across the curriculum. While engaging in research is not an expectation of this position, the ideal candidate should have a strong research background, with experience teaching at multiple levels in the undergraduate curriculum, with the flexibility to teach classes at the Foundation level (e.g. Introduction to Psychology, Statistics, Research Methods), Breadth level (e.g. a broad overview course in Clinical, Personality, or Social Psychology), and a seminar course in the area of your research expertise. In addition to teaching responsibilities, we also seek a candidate with experience or interest in assessing student learning outcomes and the scholarship of teaching and learning. PhD or other terminal degree in Psychology or related field.
