Salary: $17.00 per hour + incentives

As a Warehouse Picker-Packer , you would be responsible for:

  • Maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that enables you to get along with co-workers and management.
  • Scans requisition ("license plate") to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders in cartons for shipping or on carts for bulk packaging.
  • Marks cartons with identifying information and is responsible for clean-up of cartons, pallets, plastic, and strapping.
  • Responsible for cutting down empty cartons after picking product, if empty, and depositing in designated spot and maintaining a clean, safe, and secure work environment.
  • Attach labels for pricing on special accounts.
  • Welcomes other duties as assigned. Open to cross training in order to act as a backup for other roles and responsibilities in the department.

Requirements

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk and stand continuously.
  • Regularly lift and/or move 20–40 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to pull orders from various shelf heights.

Qualifications - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Education and/or Experience - Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Skills - Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Mathematical Skills - Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Computer Skills - To be successful in this position, knowledge of warehouse scanning equipment is necessary.

 

Other Requirements:

 

  • Ability to work overtime, including weekends, as needed.
  • Flexibility to stay late with little or no notice.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
