As a Safety and Environmental Coordinator, you are the primary driver of site-specific safety and environmental training resource for regional facilities. You'll work alongside a team to accomplish larger company initiatives, and will engage with the employee population daily. This position involves frequent travel to support initiatives at the regional site locations. 

What you will do in a day

Promote safety awareness by building on existing culture and program strengths, contributing communication with all level employees.

Demonstrate positive reinforcement of safety and health rules and regulations. 

Maintain a strong focus in multiple industrial settings ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA as well as state and local standards. 

Assist facility managers, personnel, and third party contractors with implementation of regulatory requirements.

Conduct site and job audits and routine facility audits as needed.

Provide site specific safety orientation, personnel training, and manage database to track current training within designated terminals.

Ability to identify possible root causes of problems and develop and implement corrective actions for resolution of problems 

Ability to make decisions and/or take action based on logical assumptions derived from factual information gathered. 

Self-motivated with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. 

Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks. 

Education/Experience/Knowledge: 

BS or higher degree in environmental science/ engineering or related

Working knowledge of Federal, State, and Local/City occupational safety, health, waste, storm water, air, and wastewater regulations. 

Technical experience in evaluating multi-media environmental regulations and developing company specific procedures and guidelines that meet the intent of those regulations. 

3+ years of Safety experiences in an industrial or manufacturing environment. 

Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). 

Knowledge of regulations and standards as they pertain to OSHA, NFPA, NEC, ANSI, state and local standards.
