We are currently looking for an intern to join our Health Economics & Market Access team in our Westborough, MA office (Note: Olympus does not provide relocation assistance or stipends). This program will run from May 19 – August 1, 2025. This is a full-time opportunity involving 35-40 hours per week at an hourly rate of $25.25.

As a Health Economics Intern, you will contribute to our mission by helping your department complete key projects.

Job Duties

Some potential projects for this summer could include:

  • Researching & reviewing medical/scientific literature and summarizing into tabular format, providing recommendations on findings; value proposition research and support.
  • Researching managed care websites for coverage policies, summarizing, and analyzing for relevant clinical/economic endpoints.
  • Developing economic analyses for Olympus products, including cost benefit analyses, budget impact models, cost consequence analysis
  • Analyzing trends in US reimbursement, reviewing publicly available statistics
  • Health economic research: identification of economic endpoints for outcomes research studies.

 

A typical day for you will include:

  • Collaborating with your supervisor and team to complete role-related assignments and projects.
  • Actively engaging in and adding value to meetings and discussions.
  • Engaging in other duties, as necessary.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be enrolled in a full time undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited 4-year institution.
    • Preferred fields of study include Healthcare Management, Data Analytics, Health Economics, Healthcare Administration, Pharmacy, Epidemiology, Actuarial Sciences, or related discipline. 
  • Must complete sophomore year before the internship begins and graduate after the internship ends.
  • Must not now or in the future require immigration-related sponsorship.**

  • Demonstrated ability to balance academic and extracurricular commitments (i.e. work experience, clubs, volunteer activities, teams, etc.).
  • Must possess excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Must be proficient and have practical knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to work well within a team and independently at times with limited guidance.
  • Basic understanding of economics (i.e. cost-effectiveness, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of statistics (i.e. p-values, statistical significance, etc.).

 

Preferred:

  • Basic search engine skills (i.e. Google Scholar, PubMed).
  • Experience sourcing empirical literature and identifying objectives, results, and conclusions. 
  • Familiarity with different types of studies and where to find them.
  • Understanding of relevant clinical terminology. ​​​​​​​
  • Strong, professional communication skills.
  • Skilled in presentation development and public speaking.
