Candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of engineering technology. Engineering Interns must be enrolled in an accredited degree program in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline with a preference for a standing of a sophomore or higher. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS: Apply your classroom-learned skills to a program supporting the defense of our country. GDMS has an immediate opening for an Engineering Intern to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to work on projects that support some of our nation’s fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams on various technical projects associated with our core mission. The selected candidate will have the following responsibilities: Support the development of hardware configuration item (HWCI) or subsystem level design documentation and interface design documentation. Assist with specifying, analyzing, designing, integrating, and testing the following: power and analog circuitry, modules, power supplies, etc. commercial off the shelf (COTS) electrical or electronic hardware (e.g., servers, displays, etc.) power distribution and grounding hardware, equipment, or systems. Assist in the preparation & development of design technical documentation, e.g., block diagrams, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering reports. Support the verification and validation of system designs to ensure compliance with defined specifications and standards. Participate in the troubleshooting and resolution of electrical hardware, module or circuitry issues in the production or repair facilities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of electrical components and subsystems. Conduct research and provide recommendations on electrical components and technologies. Benefits: Obtain a better understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
