Job Title: French teacher
Reports To: The World Language Department Chair
Vermont Academy seeks a teacher who is passionate about teaching French at multiple levels. Teaching with an immersion-style approach, the teachers in the World Language Department aim for appropriate levels of proficiency each year by using multiple and varied media and activities to engage students in the process of learning another language. The department also embraces the philosophy of backward design which asks teachers to set year-end goals for each level and use excellent planning and organization to help students attain these goals. Finally, the World Language Department is fully committed to teaching another language and culture so that students can become more culturally competent and more aware of issues related to social justice.
