About the Role

The Company is seeking a Dean for its College of Indigenous Studies, a pioneering institution dedicated to the integration of Indigenous knowledge systems into higher education. The successful candidate will provide visionary leadership, academic and administrative management, and will be responsible for the overall strategic direction of the College. This role involves developing and implementing academic plans that align with the mission of serving Indigenous communities, overseeing the recruitment and retention of a diverse faculty and staff, and ensuring the College's programs are culturally responsive and meet the educational and workforce needs of Indigenous and rural communities. The Dean will also be expected to lead in community engagement, foster partnerships, and advocate for the College's mission both locally and globally. Applicants for the Dean position at the College of Indigenous Studies should have a Master's degree (Ph.D. preferred) and a minimum of 5 years' experience in progressive leadership roles within higher education or equivalent. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to Indigenous knowledge and cultural continuity, experience in budget management, program development, and compliance, and a proven track record in supporting the professional growth of faculty. The role requires a leader who is adept at strategic planning, and financial management, and who can effectively engage in shared governance. The Dean will be expected to create a compelling vision for the future, deepen partnerships, and lead the College in a way that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion.
