The Building Specialist is part of a team that is responsible for multiple company-owned properties. This involves handling tasks such as grounds cleanup, maintenance, monitoring electrical and plumbing systems, mechanical systems, and ensuring overall facility cleanliness.

Our onsite Building Specialist is part of a team that is responsible for the day-to-day operation of multiple properties. To ensure that the property and grounds are well maintained, the Building Specialist routinely inspects the grounds, facilities, and equipment to determine whether inspections, maintenance, or repairs are needed. They handle and resolve minor internal requests for repairs. This individual must prioritize effectively, managing numerous tasks and responsibilities on a time-sensitive basis. Individuals who are resourceful and adaptable will find this position challenging and rewarding.

Industry: This position is part of our Administration division, which supports multiple operating divisions that serve a nationwide customer base in industries ranging from residential communities to the financial industry to the medical field.

Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide prompt, professional responses and follow-through regarding building inquiries, problems and complaints
  • Complete daily inspection of property (interior and exterior) and notify managers of any issues.
  • Update and maintain property condition reports with respect to roofs, HVAC units, parking lot, etc.
  • Monitor and maintain the appearance of entrances, parking lots, and outdoor areas, including picking up litter and removing debris.
  • Performs minor non-technical repairs.
  • Obtain bids from contractors as needed.
  • As needed supervision of contractors for services and repairs to the property.
  • Complete other special projects and duties as assigned.
  • Informs appropriate manager of any observed hazard or potentially dangerous situation for team members, vendors, and guests.
  • Help to maintain the overall cleanliness of our facilities including taking out the trash, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, polishing, dusting furniture, walls, and equipment as well as removing snow and leaves as needed.

Experience : Two to three years of general maintenance experience or a similar role. Must have a valid driver's license and a clear motor vehicle record.

Education : A high school diploma or GED is required.

Technical Skills : Candidates must have some general office skills, including with Microsoft-based operating systems, Internet tools, telephone systems and software, and other common tools including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
